About me
As an impassioned Data Analyst and Scientist, my journey began in the lush landscapes of Brazil, where I pursued a BSc in Environmental Engineering at the University of Viçosa. My academic curiosity propelled me across continents to the University of Brighton in the UK, where I deepened my expertise with an MSc in Water and Environmental Management and a PhD in Quantitative Microbial Risk Assessment. Along this journey, I've been honoured with accolades for my academic achievements, including a commendation for top student and a first class certificate.
Today, I stand as a seasoned freelancer, leveraging my robust analytical skills to design scientific experiments, perform complex statistical analyses, build machine learning models and AI solutions. My work spans from enhancing water quality assessments for the Brazilian government to enriching educational endeavours as an assistant lecturer and post-doc researcher. I've embraced the power of data across various roles, from operations administrator, where I further developed my project management and business analysis skills, to customer support, where my problem-solving abilities ensured satisfaction and compliance within stringent regulations.
What drives me is not just the data itself, but the stories it tells and the problems it solves. From the early days of my career, I've been committed to utilising data to make impactful decisions, a passion that has taken me from academic research to consulting for MSc and PhD students as well for private and government projects. My toolbox is filled with advanced software and programming languages, including SQL, Python, R, Power BI and Tableau, alongside machine learning frameworks and cloud technologies.
Beyond my professional pursuits, I am a linguist at heart, fluent in english and Portuguese, enabling me to bridge cultures and communicate complex ideas clearly and effectively. My skills in project management, teamwork, and critical thinking have been sharpened not just through my work but through the diverse, multicultural environments I have navigated.
